Hyundai E&C Presents Achievements of Hey, Sleep Sleep Care Solution at Global Academic Conference

Hyundai E&C’s AI-based sleep care solution, Hey, Sleep, has officially demonstrated its ability to improve sleep through verification by medical authorities and a presentation at a world-renowned sleep-focused academic conference.

Hey, Sleep, the first sleep solution in Korea to obtain Good Sleep Mark Gold certification for sleep environment quality from the Korea Sleep Industry Association, is a sleep care technology jointly developed by Hyundai E&C and the sleep-tech startup Asleep. It is an integrated solution that enhances sleep quality by controlling diverse factors such as temperature, lighting, humidity, ventilation, and sound insulation, integrating AI-based sleep data analysis with automation technology.

To substantiate the effects of its actual sleep environment technology, Hyundai E&C meticulously verified the functions of Hey, Sleep at a verification facility of its Mabuk-dong R&D Center in Yongin City, in collaboration with an external specialist institution. This experiment, conducted with the approval of an Institutional Review Board designated by Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, represents the industry's first clinical verification of a residential solution. Participants in the Hey, Sleep study showed significant improvements across a range of sleep quality indicators, including a ▲17.3% increase in total sleep time ▲11.81% increase in sleep efficiency ▲55.9% decrease in time awake during sleep ▲200.4% increase in deep sleep ▲28.4% increase in REM sleep.

These research outcomes were officially presented at a recent world-renowned sleep academic conference held in Singapore. The research paper presented at the conference was co-authored by leading authorities in Korean sleep medicine, including Professor Chung Ki-young of the Department of Neurology at Seoul National University Hospital, Professor Chung Yoo-sam of the Department of Otolaryngology at Asan Medical Center, and Professor Yoon In-young of the Department of Psychiatry at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, further enhancing its credibility.

A Hyundai E&C official stated, “Sleep is a core factor that determines quality of life, and we will continue to safeguard the health of the residents in our residential developments through a scientifically verified wellness-focused living environment.” The official added, “We will continue to set the standard for smart residential models by pursuing future-oriented health-centric housing based on differentiated technology and clinical evidence.”

Meanwhile, Hyundai E&C plans to expand the application of its sleep care solution Hey, Sleep to future residential complexes, as part of its strategy to evolve toward an ‘All-Life Care House’ framework, which safeguards the health and well-being of residents. More specifically, the company plans to continuously expand the residential paradigm centered on sleep and health—applying it to projects like the Apgujeong District 2 redevelopment—through ▲advancing AI & IoT convergence technology ▲applying and verifying the paradigm in large-scale apartment complexes ▲strengthening cooperation with hospitals and academic institutions at home and abroad.
